District collector bells curfew in Vadakara on Election date

As a precautionary measure to keep peace, Kozhikode district collection Sambasiva Rao has announced curfew in Vadakara on the date of Lok Sabha election. The order of invoking ‘Section 144’ would be in effect from 6 pm on April 23, and 10 pm on April 24. The Grama Panchayats, which come under the order, are the following ones – Onchiyam, Nadapuram, Perambra and Kunnummal, besides the Vadakara Municipality.

As per ‘Section 144’, people cannot gather in groups during the curfew time. District Collector has also warned people from conducting any public programs or rallies from today, April 21st, till the end of election. District Police heads, flying squads, static surveillance teams have all camped in order to avoid unnecessary clashes.
